African Monarch Lodges, Namibia
African Monarch Lodges, home to Nambwa Tented Lodge and Kazile Island Lodge inside Bwabwata National Park in Namibia’s Zambezi Region, is the cumulative product of the passion and dedication of its founders, Dusty and Tinolla.
Superior standards and unrivalled spaces are equally matched by the detail and attention bestowed on our guests by the staff who are carefully selected from the local communities for their passion for heartfelt personal service. This ensures that all our guests enjoy an extraordinary, unparalleled and true African experience.
An unquenchable desire to create memorable African experiences takes guests on foot, by boat or vehicle, up close and personal with some of the biggest herds of elephants that traverse the largest conservation area in Africa.
Lodges:
The birth of African Monarch Lodges, like all successful stories, begins with one man’s dream. A vision fuelled by passion. This dream led to the establishment of a Joint Venture lodge collection built on the principles of Conservation, Community and Conservancy.
Nambwa is part of an area wedged between Angola in the north, Botswana in the south and the Kwando River to the east which used to be known as the Golden Triangle. When Bwabwata National Park (replacing the West Caprivi Game Reserve) was proclaimed in 2007, the Golden Triangle became part of it. The Ministry of Environment and Tourism had already made Nambwa available to the Mayuni Conservancy in 2003 to operate a campsite. Due to its remote location in pristine wilderness and the mega-herds of elephants which traverse the area, the Nambwa Community Campsite became one of the most sought-after campsites in the region.
